Is the course approved?
Yes, the course is approved by the Tennessee
Board of Dentistry. The Board considers it a basic education
course. Therefore you do not receive continuing education
credit. What is the difference
between a basic education course and continuing education? A
basic education course certifies you to perform duties delegated to
you by the practice act. Continuing education enhances the
performance of what you are already allowed to do.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must have worked full time as a
dental assistant for at least a year and be registered as a dental assistant
in the State of Tennessee prior to applying for
the course.
Where is the course held? The
course is held on the campus of Chattanooga State in Chattanooga,
TennesseeWho are the
instructors? The principle clinical
instructor is Dr. William Johnson, founder of Dentedonline. He
is also a faculty member at the Dental Hygiene Program at Chattanooga State Technical Community College in
Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Johnson will be assisted by
other dental hygiene instructors.

How much does it cost?
$250
When do I have to Pay?
To secure a place in the class please pay within 10 days of
registering. If we do not receive payment, we will offer your
place in the class to someone on the waiting list.
What is your refund policy?
You will receive a full refund (minus a $25
processing fee) if you cancel at least 30 days before the course.
If you cancel less than 30 days before the course, you will receive a
50% refund.

Do I have to take a test afterwards?
Yes, there is a clinical test and a
written test that is required. It is given by the Tennessee
Board of Dentistry in September and January each year.
Do I have to contact the Board of
Dentistry afterwards? Yes,
you need to contact the Board to take the test.
Do I need to bring anything to the course?
Yes, you will need to bring clinic attire
including gloves, mask, safety glasses, and gown and also a slowspeed handpiece.
