Coronal Polishing “Hands On” Agenda

Hour one

· Instructor will review online didactic material.

· Students will take a written test.

· Instructor will remediate students who do not attain a 70% and retest student.

Hour two and three

· Instructor will demonstrate the proper coronal polishing technique.

· Students will practice the technique on a student partner or student provided patient until the instructor feels they are ready for the competency evaluation. Only limited areas of the mouth will be utilized.

Hour four

· Students will polish all areas of the patient’s mouth and competency will be evaluated by the instructor.

· Students not obtaining competency will be remediated by the instructor and retested.
